Thanks to its universal fitting, it can fit doors of all materials – wood, metal or glass – as well as walls. In case your cat does not have an implanted microchip, you can use the collar with microchip included in the box for free. Easy to use, the flap is supplied with a useful operating manual showing and explaining all Swing Microchip wonderful features; carefully follow the installation instructions and that’s it! |
Discover Swing Microchip secret: the detecting antenna.
The new cat flap Swing Microchip has a special antenna, that detects and reads the microchip implanted in your cat, thus allowing the door to be opened as by magic when your cat approaches. Your cat, having a microchip or wearing the special collar with microchip, will be the only one identified and allowed, and you won’t have unwanted guests in your home. |
Memory button and batteries compartment
Recording the microchip code is simple and fast: just approach your cat and press the suitable memory button to save the code. Swing Microchip is battery operated and has a low charge indicator. Don’t worry if the batteries are completely down and you must replace them: the recorded microchips will be kept and you don’t have to repeat the registration. In case you don’t want to use the Swing Microchip in the electronic way, the flap can also work manually: press the memory button twice and the electronic system will be excluded. Pressing only once the memory button, then, the electronic functioning system will be reactivated. For the product good working, we recommend using alkaline batteries. When new batteries are required, the low charge indicator will advise you, flashing every 5 seconds. |
Where is your cat? The useful direction indicator.
Made from sturdy plastic, Swing Microchip has an innovative windstopper system preventing draughts, a useful patented direction indicator and a 4 ways locking system. The special 4 ways locking system is extremely versatile since you can arrange the door opening according to your needs: access only, exit only, access and exit or close. A small flag on the flap will indicate where your cat is, IN, indoors, or OUT, outdoors, pointing in the last direction he went through. Just a quick glance is therefore enough to know where your sweet cat is! |

Much improved on first swing ferplast white swing door which I accidentally broke hinge when cleaning. Spares are available … door is less prone to wind, than previous but not hefty gales which when locking latch is useful. Previous cavalier dogs and present cav find easy to gain home entry without leaving a draughty barn plastic door (prone to being ruined by scratching) open in the house.

We needed a larger cat door, as our Maine Coon, who is nearly 10 kgs and still growing, looked as though he might get stuck in the old one. It works brilliantly for him. The other cats weren’t keen at first as they have to push it harder than a normal sized cat door and it makes a lot of noise, but they seem OK with it now. My partner had a bit of trouble installing it, but managed eventually. Really good for huge cats!

This is the second dog door I have bought this year and we are only in February! I used to have the Staywell 4 way locking flap and found this to be an excellent product but it was discontinued. Reviews of the 2 way Staywell flap seemed to be rather mixed and I was concerned that the flap would be strong enough based on these reviews so opted for the Staywell heavy duty aluminium in large size. This involved changing the bottom panel of my door because of the different apperture. The door was a disaster – it just blew open all the time letting a draught in and making the house very cold. I have now bought the Ferplast door and had to have yet another panel fitted to my door. The door was fitted by a handyman with a lot of experience in fitting cat/dog flaps so I cannot comment on that except to say that he made it look easy! The tunnel section needed to be trimmed down to fit the depth of my door panel. The door frame appears quite large, in comparison to the Staywell aluminium one, but looks quite smart in the white door. The door has a very positive close position, it is rather noisy as it closes and swings back and forth especially after the labrador has gone through. My concern from the appearance of this door is that it will not prove sturdy enough but only time will tell if this is well founded.I have 3 cats and a terrier as well as the labrador and they have absolutely no difficulty with this dog flap.I will repost at some stage to inform on whether it has been a successful purchase because I have had such a struggle to get any useful, informed advice about the subject of dogflaps ansd it has cost me a lot of money making uninformed purchases!Update 18/04/2012.I am really pleased with this flap – we have had all weather types now from high winds and driving rain to a really hot spell and this dog door has performed extremely well.It isn’t quiet as it closes but it does close every time and most importantly stays closed!Update 28/10/2012 – dog flap has a break in the U frame. Currently still closes but I am not as confident that it will last.

Fantastic super large dog flap. This one replaced the same model which had served us well for 6 years before our dog ran into it full tilt carrying a yard broom and pulled the entire thing out of the wall! Still dont know how he managed to get partially through and come in wearing the entire thing but in removing it from him we broke the inner flap, so we decided a new one might be prudent. Well made, still in one piece after all that punishment so we would not have anything else.

This was bought to replace a similar dog flap broken by an enthusiastic puppy. It slotted in perfectly and needed just a bit of trimming – appropriately inteligible instructions provided. The new door works smoothly and has survived numerous ins and outs of one puppy, an elderly dog and two cats.

This is the second one we have had, the first one ended up taped together still worked. We changed the door so we had a new dog flap same as the old but new. We have 3 large dogs they don’t go out of it quietly it’s all or nothing and the flp stands it. If i had to replace it it would be the same again

Great price good colour for external brick work plus great door operation our cat uses it no problems. I used mastic to stick it to the external wall and give it a good weatherproof seal. I also put a wood and plastic step in to make it easier for cat to come and go.

I have used a previous one for many years without problems.I am sure the new one will also give good service

Unlike other catflaps purchased locally, the Ferflast Wing 7 actually lasts a lot longer, as I replaced the first one bought 8 years later. The flap system really resists to gales and other storm force winds and the one I installed in the kitchen faces the prevailing winds from the North Atlantic – SW, W, NW. Living in Shetland demands tough gear and this one is “Shetland proof”. Since I discovered this product, I will never again buy any other fro any other brands.
